About the Sales Incentive Games
Sales games are a great way to increase sales and build employee morale. Your employees will look forward to coming to work and will have a good attitude toward their job. They will be better salespeople for your company and will contribute more toward exceptional customer service.
As the owner or manager of a retail store, you must lead by example. Lead with enthusiasm and let your attitude spread to your employees. If you are upbeat and excited about the sales games and incentives, your employees will be positive and excited. If you are somber and lack excitement, you will send the message to your employees that it's okay to lack enthusiasm.
When implementing your sales games, be energetic throughout your entire presentation of how the games are played, and about the rewards. Consider it a sales presentation. After all, you are selling the games to your employees so that they in turn sell more products. Get them excited to sell and ....... Sell!
If you are a smaller company with just a few employees, join in on the games and let them compete against you or set individual sales goals for the games. Whether or not you participate, you should frequently ask how they're doing and keep them hyped. You have more responsibility that anyone in the company, but make an honest effort to keep the enthusiasm about the games rolling so that the people on the front line increase profits. Schedule yourself to go into your store and spread encouragement about the current game. This is also an opportunity to learn if some of your staff needs help or training with product knowledge or salesmanship skills. If you give commission, play the games in addition to commission. The wards don't need to be big and costly, they just need to add a little excitement.
Don't forget about your service people. Implement a game for them to sell add-on products in the field. Think of the items that they can suggest to their customers. Even if you have only one service person, he can play to reach a sales goal of particular items or dollar volume.
The games are easy to implement with the "ready to hand out" instruction sheets. Don't forget to congratulate the winner or winners and post the results of the games for everyone to see. The more you spread praise and gratitude, the harder they will try for the next reward.
About the Training DVD's
Workplace rules of conduct are common sense. Unfortunately, not all of your employees, especially the young adults, understand what you expect of them. "Be a Star" was created because it is so important that your employees have good work ethics and make a good impression on your customers, and because you do not always have the time you need to thoroughly train your new employees on the basic rules of conduct. "Be a Star" will teach your employees how to excel on the job and be successful.
There is ALWAYS enough time to sell add-on items at the cash register........even when the lines are out the door; ESPECIALLY during the busy season when you have the traffic. Train your salespeople and your cashiers to increase sales in 30 seconds or less right at the counter. The technique is simple and proven.
